There are 4 areas that need to be fulfilled in everybody’s life:
Physically, Socially (piece between man), Financially and Spiritually.
Having said that it is important that we ask ourselves which of those areas above we still haven’t been fulfilled and most importantly which one of them is the most important in someone’s life?
Something I discovered through my walk and in seeking the best way to live my life is that God wants to bless us physically but the evil will do everything he can to hurt us and our health. We see an example of this in Job 2:4-7 (4 “Skin for skin!” Satan replied. “A man will give all he has for his own life. 5 But now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.” 6 The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life.” 7 So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head.)
On the other hand God wants to bless us in every way, Exodus 23:25 (25 You must serve the Lord your God. If you do this, I will bless you with plenty of bread and water. I will take away all sickness from you.)
God also has a special interest to bless us in our close relationships, within our community and socially in general. This is so clear when we read I Peter 3:8-13 (8 So all of you should live together in peace. Try to understand each other. Love each other like brothers and sisters. Be kind and humble. 9 Don’t do wrong to anyone to pay them back for doing wrong to you. Or don’t insult anyone to pay them back for insulting you. But ask God to bless them. Do this because you yourselves were chosen to receive a blessing. 10 The Scriptures say: “If you want to enjoy true life and have only good days, then avoid saying anything hurtful, and never let a lie come out of your mouth. 11 Stop doing what is wrong, and do good. Look for peace, and do all you can to help people live peacefully. 12 The Lord watches over those who do what is right, and he listens to their prayers. But he is against those who do evil.” 13 If you are always trying to do good, no one can really harm you.)
We can see through the whole Bible how much God cares for the peace among men and within their families, Proverbs 6:16-19 is another example, (16The Lord hates these seven things: 17eyes that show pride, tongues that tell lies, hands that kill innocent people, 18hearts that plan evil things to do, feet that run to do evil, 19witnesses in court who tell lies, and anyone who causes family members to fight.)
This means when we are interested to be in God’s presence and when we care about pleasing Him, the consequence for our lives is quite simple: people whom meet us and pass by our lives, they will be blessed and when God take us away they will miss us and they will remember us fondly.
How many times I heard people saying that if there was a God this world wouldn’t be the way it is right now with so many wars, violence, corruption, injustice, famine and illness. It is easy just to blame God for being neutral to the mankind suffering. However I never heard anybody asking themselves why God has been silent under these events and circumstances. Could it be because we have been ignoring Him all this time? II Chronics 7:12-14 supports that thought and also shows us that God has an interest to bless us financially too, (12Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at night and said to him: – “Solomon, I have heard your prayer, and I have chosen this place for myself to be a house for sacrifices. 13When I close the sky so that there is no rain, or command the locusts to destroy the land, or send sicknesses to my people 14and if my people who are called by my name become humble and pray, and look for me, and turn away from their evil ways, then I will hear them from heaven. I will forgive their sin and heal their land.)
Heal the land means bless us financially. God send us draught, diseases, women cannot conceive, misery, poverty when society moral is in decline, when we ignore the signs, God’s calling and when we are in partnership with the wrong things of this world, or compromising everything He has left to men to follow. His guide lines and commandments will never bring us painful results, on the contrary… Another example of God’s desire to bless men is registered in Malachi 3:10 (10The Lord All-Powerful says, “Try this test. Bring one-tenth of your things to me. Put them in the treasury. Bring food to my house. Test me! If you do these things, I will surely bless you. Good things will come to you like rain falling from the sky. You will have more than enough of everything.)
In Proverbs 3:9-12 says (9Honor the Lord with your wealth and the first part of your harvest. 10Then your barns will be full of grain, and your barrels will be overflowing with wine. 11My son, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be angry when he corrects you. 12The Lord corrects the one he loves, just as a father corrects a child he cares about.)
God wants to bless us financially but He also wants us to be a giver, when we give tithes and offerings we are protecting our finances spiritually from the devour spirit and also keeping our hearts from being attached to material as this cannot be taken with us when we depart from this world.
Finally God wants to bless us spiritually and every human being needs a spiritual life alive. Many people don’t believe that this need can be fulfilled by God, however the only way to have a spiritual life alive is to be connected to Him. Have you noticed that every human being seeks for peace? But have you also noticed that Jesus is the only God whom proclaimed He is Peace and He owns Peace? That means that earth will never find peace if its inhabitants don’t seek that and ask for it to the Peace owner. In John 5:24-27 we read (24“I assure you, anyone who hears what I say and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life. They will not be judged guilty. They have already left death and have entered into life. 25Believe me, an important time is coming. That time is already here. People who are dead will hear the voice of the Son of God. And those who listen will live. 26Life comes from the Father himself. So the Father has also allowed the Son to give life. 27And the Father has given him the power to judge all people because he is the Son of Man.)
In John 14:27 we read (“I leave you peace. It is my own peace I give you. I give you peace in a different way than the world does. So don’t be troubled. Don’t be afraid.)
Acts 10:36 (God has spoken to the people of Israel. He sent them the Good News that peace has come through Jesus Christ, the Lord of all people.)
Isaiah 9-6 (This will happen when the special child is born. God will give us a son who will be responsible for leading the people. His name will be “Wonderful Counselor, Powerful God, Father Who Lives Forever, Prince of Peace.”)
That is why God has put 2 desires in mankind’s heart: a desire for peace and for eternity, Ecclesiastes 3:14 and 17 (14 I learned that anything God does will continue forever. People cannot add anything to the work of God, and they cannot take anything away from it. God did this so that people would respect him. 15 What happened in the past has happened, and what will happen in the future will happen.17 So I said to myself, “God has planned a time for everything, and he has planned a time to judge everything people do. He will judge good people and bad people.”)
So, no doubt God has an interest in bless people but many of us does not have an interest to know Him or hear what He has to say. I think what I am trying to say is to you give Him a chance to prove you wrong about Him. He is real and alive so try to become a God hunter, seek his presence in your life and you shall find Him as He never leaves any request unanswered. Many people go to church for the wrong reasons and seek Him using the wrong motivation. But when your spiritual life is in the centre of God’s will and God’s plan, things start to happen: You start to bless everything, everywhere and everyone, Psalms 128:1 (Great blessings belong to those who love and respect the Lord and live the way he wants.
The conclusion I take from this when trying to answer the question I made in the beginning of this article is: The most important area to be fulfilled in anybody’s life is the spiritual one. I believe that we can find answers for many things in life but only God can answer and treat the troubles of the spirit.
